Demolition Waste
Construction and Demolition Waste

Construction waste arises during demolition or dismantling, new construction or expansion of buildings, roads or infrastructure projects. It consists of materials such as concrete, limestone, brick, asphalt, natural stone or gravel and sand. Construction and demolition wastes (CDWs) represent a severe environmental pollution problem in most countries, especially underdeveloped ones, due to their inadequate management and low rates of recycling or utilization.
